You should always use hand signals when riding on city streets, especially when riding in groups. When riding with the family, hand signals are very important. What if one of your group is having mechanical problems and slams on the brakes? Yes, a scene out of one of those bad blooper shows – a complete pile up! It’s just a good habit to start with your kids.

To turn right, extend your left arm out and bend your forearm up…imaging taking an oath or a line from an old sci-fi movie “we come in peace”
To turn left extend your left hand strait out as if to say “I was this tall when I learned how to ride a bike”.
To stop, extend your left arm out and bend your forearm down…think of someone doing the robot or checking the performance of their antiperspirant.
